09.03.2011Center Amalipe will be a National Coordinator for Bulgaria of the European Programme for Roma Mediators
Following its High Level meeting on Roma, the Council of Europe has launched the implementation of the Strasbourg Declaration adopted on 20th October 2010 by the Governments of the member states. In the Declaration, the member states of the Council of Europe have agreed to set up an European Training Programme for Roma Mediators, with the aim to streamline, codify and consolidate the existing training programmes and about Mediators for Roma, through the most effective use of existing resources, Council of Europe, standards, methodology, networks and infrastructure, in close cooperation with national and local authorities.
Bulgaria is part of the programme. Biser Alekov and Alexandra Raykova will be trainers; Center Amalipe will act as а National Coordinator for Bulgaria for the Program in Bulgaria. In particular, Amalipe will:
- support the mediators in the implementation of the practical activities in the six months’ interval between the two training sessions;
- support the Council of Europe in the monitoring process;
- provide input to the pool of trainers on the online platform, in order to facilitate the organization of the second training session;
- provide feedback on the national activities during the stock-taking conference which will be organized at the end of the training process.
